After months of uncertainty Jennifer's husband, Shawn, was finally given the news that the vision in one eye would never be restored and the rest of his vision in the other eye would require several expensive procedures to be saved. Jennifer is a therapist assistant at one of our facilities in Blount County, TN. The Cookie Jar Fund donated funds to assist with a portion of the costs. This is what Jennifer had to say:
Dear Cookie Jar Fund committee,
My husband started losing his vision in April 2013. In June 2013 he lost complete sight in his right eye as a result of that we went to a number of specialists, including a new general practitioner. Through this collective effort my husband Shaun was finally diagnosed with all three forms of diabetic Retinopathy and Glaucoma. There is nothing that can be done to save the right eye and they are trying to salvage the remaining vision in his left eye. On April 7th, 2014 I was presented with a check from Functional Pathways' Cookie Jar Fund that I had been nominated by my co-workers. Shaun and I are very grateful for this unexpected gift and it will definitely help pay for some of these expenses. Functional Pathways is truly a caring and family oriented company. Thank you so much Cookie Jar Fund!
